Home Grown Adventures

Culture & Identity: Explore ancient Indigenous heritage and learn how it shapes contemporary Australian life.
Outdoor Adventure: Trek through rainforests, snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, or camp under the stars in Tasmania.
Civic & Society: Engage in hands-on learning about democracy and leadership in Canberra.
Wildlife Encounters: Spot kangaroos, koalas, and crocodiles in their natural habitats.

Student Leadership and Growth

Throughout each expedition, students take turns stepping into key leadership roles — from Student Leader and Budget Manager to Navigator, Wellbeing Officer, and any other roles the team identifies along the way. This shared ownership builds confidence, empathy, collaboration, and the kind of practical life skills that only come from real-world experience.

On Futurekind tours, students aren’t just along for the ride — they’re actively involved. From navigating a city map to presenting reflections, capturing their experience in journals, or leading parts of a museum visit, students are encouraged to take initiative. This kind of engagement builds curiosity, confidence, and ownership of their own learning journey.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

Every Futurekind journey is a learning journey. From building resilience in the bush to learning cultural empathy abroad, our programs are anchored in SDG 4 — ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education that prepares young people to shape a better world. Our Australian programs also support SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities & Communities) through respectful First Nations engagement and community-based initiatives. Environmental education and conservation experiences contribute to SDG 13 (Climate Action).

Community Initiatives

In Australia, community engagement is all about meaningful connection. Whether it’s contributing to local environmental conservation, supporting Indigenous-led initiatives, or learning from grassroots organisations, students are encouraged to listen first, act thoughtfully, and reflect deeply. These opportunities foster respect, awareness, and a stronger sense of shared responsibility—right here at home.

Accommodation

Students enjoy a mix of comfort and adventure. In the cities, they’ll stay in private, shared rooms at clean, centrally located hostels or hotels—close to key attractions, local eats, and evening activities. On certain programs, a night camping under the stars in a National Park adds a touch of wild Australia. Picture campfire chats, the sounds of the bush at night, and a sky full of stars—moments that bring the group closer and make memories stick.

Futurekind Must Do Moments

From walking the rugged trails of Cradle Mountain to immersing in traditional land conservation at Mungalla Station, Australia offers moments that shift perspectives. Students might sit with Indigenous custodians, learning how Country is cared for, or stand breathless at the edge of a glacial lake in Tasmania, realising that no photo can truly capture its scale. These are the experiences they’ll remember—and carry—with them.

Culture

Australian culture celebrates mateship, equality, and a deep connection to the land and sea. With a laid-back spirit and love of humour, it’s shaped by diverse voices—from the world’s oldest continuous cultures to waves of global migration. Students will experience a uniquely Australian way of life that’s relaxed, welcoming, and rich in stories, both ancient and new.

Cultural R and R

Whether it’s wandering Sydney’s harbourside markets, enjoying beach time along the Gold Coast, or taking in street art and live music in Melbourne’s laneways, Australia offers the perfect balance of downtime and discovery. Students can relax, recharge, and experience the laid-back lifestyle that makes our country so uniquely welcoming.
